MICHAEL AMASSE
I'm Michael Amasse, an 18-year-old scenic arts creative specialising in woodwork, metalwork, prop-making, and digital design. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the way physical spaces and objects can shape a story, and that passion has driven me to develop a practice that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.
Sustainability plays a huge role in my work. I believe that scenic arts has a responsibility to be as environmentally conscious as it is visually impactful. In everything I create—whether it's a full stage set or a small prop—I focus on using reclaimed timber, recycled metals, and eco-friendly materials wherever possible. I’m passionate about finding innovative ways to reduce waste and create pieces that are durable, adaptable, and kind to the environment. For me, sustainable design isn’t just a choice—it’s the future of our industry.
In my portfolio, you’ll find a mix of projects that showcase my skills across different mediums. Expect to see bespoke stage sets built from reclaimed wood, hand-forged metal props, and digital design work that brings imaginative worlds to life. I also focus on designing functional, touring-friendly set pieces that balance aesthetic appeal with practicality and longevity.
I’m always excited to collaborate and push the boundaries of scenic arts. My goal is to create work that not only tells a story but does so with intention, responsibility, and craftsmanship.
